  • Rescuing Food & Nourishing Our Community

Our Grocery Rescue and Food for Farms programs are rescuing food by keeping millions of pounds of food from ending up in the landfill.

Neighbors Feeding Neighbors, Every Day

A Successful Stuff the Bus! 🧡🚌

We extend our sincere gratitude to our community for supporting our efforts when it matters most. This weekend’s Stuff the Bus food drive demonstrated remarkable generosity, as we collected over 12,000 pounds of dry goods and 400 turkeys! These donations will directly support our upcoming Holiday Helpings Food Distribution on Turkey Tuesday and provide holiday meals for those across northern Arizona.

For additional information regarding the distribution event or sponsorship opportunities, please contact zenya@hotfood.org. Thank you to our partners Mountain Line, Flagstaff City Government, and Coconino County for making this a success. @flagstaffcitygovernment @flgmountainline @coconinocounty
GOVERNMENT SHUTDOWN UPDATE | 11.12.25

SNAP Update: As the House prepares to vote today to end this historic government shutdown, we want to acknowledge a difficult truth: the impact doesn’t end when the shutdown does.

About half of Arizona SNAP recipients have received full benefits and DES expects the remaining benefits to be released this week, also in full. This comes after more than a week of inconsistent directives from FNS and multiple lawsuits, which have only added more confusion to an already critical situation. The relief is imminent for all SNAP participants, but, if you’re waiting, watch for DES notifications and visit bit.ly/govshutdownresources for local food and support options.

Despite it all, we have been deeply inspired by the compassion and solidarity shown by our community. ❤️ Your generosity and resilience have carried so many through this difficult time — and as we move from crisis toward recovery, our work together isn’t over.

The government may be reopening, but the challenges facing our neighbors remain. That’s why we’re asking you to stay involved and keep the momentum going:
✨ Volunteer: Lend a hand at a local food bank or pantry site.
📣 Advocate: Speak up for stronger safety nets and fair access to benefits.
💛 Donate: Every dollar helps feed families and sustain our programs.
🤝 Stay Involved: Follow our updates, share our posts, and keep showing up for your community.

Together, we can make sure no one is left behind — not during this shutdown, and not after it ends. Learn more and get involved at hotfood.org
