Explore Our New Activity from the Second Annual Summit

Food Insecurity Simulation

During our afternoon session, participants stepped into the shoes of a Northern Arizona resident navigating food insecurity in a powerful, interactive simulation. They managed limited resources, faced real-life challenges, and attempted to provide their household with enough food for the week—all within just 15 minutes. From navigating SNAP eligibility to encountering unexpected “Life Happens” events, the activity revealed the daily trade-offs faced by thousands in our community.

Designed to foster empathy, connection, and a deeper understanding of the systems at play, the session concluded with a reflective debrief—turning experience into insight and insight into action.

Celebrating the Collaboration of Northern Arizona

The Northern Arizona Hunger Action Partnership (NAHAP) was born out of the 2024 Summit to turn shared momentum into collective action. NAHAP is a regional collaboration working to address hunger and food insecurity through systems-level change and community-driven solutions. Click here to learn more.
