Arizona Partnership for Healthy Communities

Neighbors Feeding Neighbors, Every Day

The breakout sessions at the 2026 Northern Arizona Anti-Hunger Summit were built with this work — and the people doing it — in mind.

Whether you’re ready to organize, looking for new strategies, or trying to stay involved without burning out, there will be space for you.

We’re excited to announce our next breakout session: Book Clubs, Groups & Resources: How to Learn More and Stay Involved Without Burying Yourself, featuring local community leader Sara Sprague and @civileats Membership Manager Kalisha Bass.

This session will explore practical, sustainable ways to stay connected to anti-hunger work while protecting your capacity. From community gardens and book clubs to small acts of action and direct service, Sara and Kalisha will share grounded examples of how people can keep learning, contributing, and building momentum without taking on more than they can carry.

Join us on September 3, 2026, in Flagstaff for a day of learning, connection, and action.

We’re excited to announce our first breakout session: How to Survive When You're Drowning - A conversation for helpers on rest, recovery, and capacity, featuring Emily Neuman Bauerle, LCSW, Founder and Executive Director of @rccflagstaff.

This session will explore how to practically sustain anti-hunger and social change efforts in a world where we often feel underwater. Emily will share practical tools for identifying burnout, battling overcommitment, and rediscovering your "why".

A great few days of connecting, learning, and conversations at the Rural Policy Forum in Kingman!

Throughout the Forum, we had the opportunity to hear from speakers, take part in meaningful conversations, and connect with other organizations, local businesses, and people doing important work in their communities.

One of the highlights was touring @rosebirdfarms and getting a firsthand look at the work happening right here in rural Arizona.

We’re grateful for the opportunity to build new relationships, exchange ideas, and spend time with others who are committed to strengthening and supporting rural communities across Arizona!

Nothing beats the smell of fresh-baked bread! 🍞✨

For our July Community Cooking Class, Chef Guy led a bread-making class, sharing the basics of mixing, kneading, shaping, and baking fresh homemade breads using simple, affordable ingredients. Participants then personalized sliders from the bread for a great evening of learning, baking, and sharing together!

Missed this class? There's still one more opportunity to join us! Our August class will be the final class in this series, so we hope you'll come cook with us. Both in-person and Zoom options are available. Register at bit.ly/NAZcookingclass. We can't wait to see you!
