In this short video below, your friends and neighbors talk to you about the importance of working poor tax credit donations! These tax credits account for approximately half of the food center’s annual income and make sure that we keep on feeding Flagstaff!
It’s important to note how many children in Flagstaff depend upon the Flagstaff Family Food Center. In Flagstaff, approximately about 1 in 4 children are living in poverty.
Our kitchen provides children with a fresh, hot, and nutritious meal each evening. Additionally, our food boxes feed about 8,000 children between the ages of 0-5 annually.
Children come to our Paul Sweitzer Reading Room every evening to read and work on homework with our volunteers and staff. Last year, more than 2,000 children visited nearly 8,000 times! During each visit, children are encouraged to take books home to keep–in fact, last year, we gave out nearly 5,500 books.
We’re providing between 1,300 and 1,500 meals every day, 365 days of the year. We serve dinner each evening, distribute food boxes and sack lunches, deliver daily meals to the Flagstaff Shelter, and provide food to more than 40 local non-profit organizations that also serve low-income clients.
Won’t you join with us to ensure that all of our neighbors in Flagstaff have a warm, inviting place to turn when they’re hungry?
An individual can give up to $200 and a married couple can give up to $400. You don’t have to itemize when you file your taxes. This is a simple and important way to direct a portion of your tax dollars back into your community!
You can give a tax credit donation in one of three ways:
